Travel: Surat Thani Photo diary

Let’s pick back up where I left! After Koh Samui we took a ferry to Surat Thani and started with a boat trip through the Klong Roi Sai at the Tapee river, which are actually a lot of canals coming together.

We checked in at the Cliff and River Jungle Resort, which is a resort owned by local people. It’s in the middle of nature and above you can see my view from my hotel room. Everything is more basic as the previous hotels but it’s an unique experience to spend the night here.

After canoeying and a relaxed night we went to our last hotel by long tail boat. We stayed in the 500 RAI floating resort in the middle of the Khao Sok National Park. During our trip to the hotel we spotted monkeys and birds, so cool! Khao Sok National Park was, regarding nature, my favorite place of the whole trip, it really leaves you breathless.

From our room we could jump into the lake or go for some kayaking. Next to that the resort hosted a lot of activities, so you definitely won’t be bored when you come here! They also take care of your transport from the airport to the hotel. Just note that there is no wifi or mobile reach so you have to detox from the world ;-).
After some hours of sunbathing and swimming this trip came to an end and I went home with a lot of new amazing memories. You can read my previous posts about Thailand here and here.

Finally I want to end with a list of things I think you should bring if you go to Thailand ;-):

  • Maxi-dress that covers your shoulders to visit the temples
  • Antibacterial gel
  • Tissues because sometimes there’s no toilet paper
  • A good mask for your hair, it gets really dry
  • Mints for after all the spicy food
  • A hat to protect yourself from the sun
  • Extra phone to put a Thai simcard in which costs 10 euro for 1,5GB
  • Cardigan: most places are with airco and can be cold in your summer outfit
Hope you enjoyed my Thailand posts, be sure to let me know in the comments!
